Babics Antal: Clinical and theoretical pictures of some renal diseases (Budapest, 1964)

CLINICAL AND THEORETICAL PICTURES OF SOME RENAL DISEASES by Professor A. BABICS M. D. and Associate Professor F. RÉNYI-VÁMOS M.D., D.Sc. The authors discuss the topography and network density of the lymphatics and summarize the results of many years of research work and practical experience. They demonstrate the lymphatics of the kidney by means of a new method: after ligating the ureter they follow all the developmental phases of hydronephrosis and pyelonephritis. The hydromechanisms of the renal cavity and the effect of peristaltic disturbances due to various causes upon the function of the kidney are analyzed by accurate experimental tests. A new theory of the development of hydronephrosis and pyelonephritis is described, explaining the clinical picture and events. The authors draw important conclusions regarding therapy, diagnostics and surgical indications, and suggest operating principles which will facilitate the work of renal surgeons and will enable them to accomplish better results.
