Bartha Antal: Barbarian and early feudal societies on the fringes of Europe - Studia historica Academiae Scientiarum Hungaricae 69. (Budapest, 1970)

Following older practice, the Hungarian historians have thought it their task to present a new publication for the XHIth International Congress of Historians; the title of the volume being: Etudes Historiques 1970. Volume I of this publication presents a survey on the highly varied sphere of themes of recent Hungarian historiography and the latest results achieved by the research workers of the various topical fields. Part of the studies are connected with the Congress programme, while the rest deal with other subjects, e.g. the development and growth of the South-American bourgeois society, historical problems of the Austro- Hungarian Monarchy, or the methodological questions of historical statistics. Volume II contains the annotated bibliography of all the books, essays and papers on history published between 1964 and 1968. The present study forms part of this publication.
