THERMAL ANALYSIS PROCEEDINGS OF THE FOURTH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON THERMAL ANALYSIS Held in Budapest, Hungary, 8 — 13 July, 1974 Among the modern methods of chemical analysis, thermal investigation is steadily gaining ground. The initially simple thermal measurements and instruments have undergone in recent years a rapid development which is reflected by the wide spectrum of the various directions of research. The ICTA conferences, organized every three years, provide an opportunity for thermal analysts to present their experimental results. The 4th ICTA Conference, organized in Budapest, 8 — 13 July, 1974, was attended by more than 600 participants from 30 countries, and 277 papers were read in six sections. The present volumes contain the full text of the papers. VOLUME 1 comprises 100 papers, read in Sections 1 and 2, dealing with the theory of thermal analysis and research in the field of inorganic chemistry. VOLUME 2 presents 72 papers on recent research in the domains of organic and macromolecular chemistry (Section 3) and earth sciences (Section 4). VOLUME 3 reports in 105 papers recent trends of development in applied sciences (Section 5) and methodics and instrumentation (Section 6). The papers in these Proceedings will be most helpful to the reader in becoming better acquainted with the scientific interests and results of researchers all over the world. Edited by I.
