Forrai Jenő: Radiology of haemophilic arthropathies - Haematologia 1. (Budapest, 1976)

J. Forrai RADIOLOGY OF HAEMOPHILIC ARTHROPATHIES („HAEMATOLOGIA” Series of Monographs 1) In the last ten years many new effective antihaemophilic therapeutics have been introduced. Due to these potent coagulation factor concentrates, the life-expectancy of haemophiliacs has considerably changed, more and more patients grow up and thus reach the stage of the illness when bleeding episodes decrease both in number and intensity. Unfortunately, however, by this age most patients are severely handicapped by progressed arthropathies. Hence, detailed knowledge of the exact course of haemophilic arthropathies is of paramount importance. The author presents a unique description of the X- ray morphology of haemophilic arthropathy based on ten years’ experience at the National Institute of Haematology and Blood Transfusion, Budapest. The volume includes valuable information for haematologists, rheumatologists, orthopaedic surgeons, traumatologists, and especially for physicians engaged in the care of haemophiliacs, in the diagnostics, differential diagnostics and prognosis of this disease.
