Gregor, Howard F.: An agricultural typology of California - Geography of world agriculture 4. (Budapest, 1974)

HOWARD F. GREGOR AN AGRICULTURAL TYPOLOGY OF CALIFORNIA It is characteristic of California’s agriculture that it turns out more than 250 kinds of products. Californian farms, richest in capital in the U. S. A., are highly specialized. There is also important regional variety in the agriculture of the state, owing to its diverse geographical conditions. The author analyzes in detail the eight farm-types prevailing in California, describes their geographical features and system of production, as well as their socio-economic organization. Finally, he summarizes the regional structure of, and changes in, Californian agriculture. AKADÉMIAI KIADÓ PUBLISHING HOUSE OF THE HUNGARIAN ACADEMY OF SCIENCES BUDAPEST
