Hahn Emil: Proceedings of the second colloqium on thin films. Budapest, 1967 (Budapest, 1968)

The Second Colloquium on Thin Films organized by the Hungarian National Committee for Optics and sponsored by ICO was held in Budapest between 27 June and 2 July, 1967. The 77 studies of the Colloquium give a comprehensive survey of recent branch developments reported by the participants of several countries. Devided into four sessions the Colloquium proceeded under the following headings: 1. Formation and structure of films, 2. Optics of thin films, 3. Physical and chemical properties of thin films, 4. Recent tendencies in the utilization of thin films with special regard to electric components. The large number of papers published on thin films, appearing in various journals, almost frustrate gathering an over-all picture in this field of research. In order to make good this deficiency a second colloquium was organized. More than 500 figures and numerous tables render this material very practicable for researchers engaged in the varied domains of this science. The volume is a joint edition of the Publishing House of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and Vandenhoeck und Ruprecht, Göttingen.
