PAPERS IN INTERDISCIPLINARY SPEECH RESEARCH Proceedings of the Speech Symposium, Szeged 1971 edited by J. Hirschberg, Gy. Szépe, E. Vass-Kovdcs The volume contains 80 papers on the following topics (according to the sessions of the Symposium): The structure of speech and the structure of language; Speech production and speech perception; The acoustic structure of speech; Logopedics and linguistics; Analysis of pathological voice; Applied speech research. The material of a Round Table Conference dealing with the present state and future tasks of speech research is included. Among the participants coming from sixteen countries (Austria, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, France, German Democratic Republic, German Federal Republic, Hungary, Italy, Japan, The Netherlands, Romania, Sweden, Switzerland, USA, USSR and Yugoslavia) there are physicists, linguists, physicians, phoneticians, logopedists and teachers. In spite of the several individual ways of approaching the problems of speech, the lectures converged in the same direction and complemented each other. Having been the first conference in this sphere, its achievements will have their influence felt in the future, and will surely be manifested at the following symposium. AKADÉMIAI KIADÓ BUDAPEST
