Kampp, Aage Hjalmar Hansen: An agricultural geography of Denmark - Geography of world agriculture 5. (Budapest, 1975)

Aa. H. KAMPF AN AGRICULTURAL GEOGRAPHY OF DENMARK The only important natural resource of Denmark is its soil. Though the country’s land is not very fertile, its agricultural export (primarily directed to England) has ensured welfare since the 19th century. The production of food of a high quality has been based on a network of cooperative farms since the late 1800’s. Two thirds of its total agricultural production are still exported. Despite its small territory, Denmark is among the world’s greatest exporters of animal products. Aa. H. Kampp, the renowned geographer, studies the development and the social structure of Danish agriculture in this volume which is the fifth in the series “Geography of World Agriculture”. Providing a number of maps, he thoroughly analyses the geographical distribution of agricultural production, giving in the Appendix an interesting description of the agricultural production in Greenland and the Faroes.
