Kisbocskói L. - Szabó Á. (szerk.): Proceedings of the Eight Conference on Fluid Machinery I. - Proceedings of Conference on Fluid Machinery 8. (Budapest, 1987)

Twenty-five years have elapsed since the first Conference on Fluid Machinery was organized in 1962. From a modqst start of 23 papers by researchers and practising engineers from 4 countries to this 8th Conference with 119 papers from 22 countries a most promising development has been displayed. Since 1962 conferences on fluid machinery have been arranged regularly by the Section of Engineering of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the Hungarian Society of Mechanical Engineers. The Volumes contain the texts of all 119 lectures delivered at the conference. The authors are recognized as leading scientists in their respective fields. The papers deal with topics related to design, testing and operation of fluid machines and are concerned with timely problems that receive great attention. The broad areas which are dealt with are as follows: Ideal and real flow through passages, boundary layers, flows around bodies, flow through cascades; Two-phase flow, mixing; Cavitation, erosion, noise, surge; Positive displacement pumps; Water turbines; Axial fans, compressors; Centrifugal fans, pumps, compressors; Seals, branching networks and distribution systems; Nozzle, jet pumps. Beyond the subjects referred to above, the papers forecast the further development of this important professional field. ISBN 963 05 4647 7 Vols 1-2 ISBN 843 05 4648 5 Vol. 1
