KELEMEN The volume presents all the papers read at the symposium which was held in the frame of the Second Congress of the Hungarian Pharmacological Society in October, 1974. Recent advances in prostaglandin research were outlined by 40 participants from 9 countries. The volume contains numerous new data on the effects of prostaglandins upon the heart and blood circulation, the respiratory system, the endocrine glands and on inflammatory processes. Further it deals with the clinical use of prostaglandins and their antagonists in obstetrics and gynaecology. Besides these problems the chemistry of prostaglandins, their fate in the body and the properties of new prostaglandin derivatives are also described in the book. The papers approach the problems of prostaglandins from the pharmacological point of view emphasizing the interaction of prostaglandins with other pharmacologically active agents.
