Mokk László: Prefabricated concrete for industrial and public structures (Budapest, 1964)

PREFABRICATED CONCRETE FOR INDUSTRIAL AND PUBLIC STRUCTURES by LÁSZLÓ МОКК Civil Engineer Following two Hungarian editions this is the sixth foreign version of the book first published in 1956. The most recent German edition has been published with enlarged contents under the title: »Bauen mit Stahlbetonfertigteilen. Hallen. Industriebauten«, and the material for the present edition has been brought up to date and completed according to the latest achievements in its field all over the world. A brief survey is given of the development of prefabricated reinforced construction and a comparison is made between prefabricated and monolithic structures. Problems relating to the design and joints of prefabricated elements, the structural analysis of prefabricated structures, the casting of elements, various hoisting equipment and methods of assembly are discussed in detail. A separate chapter is devoted to a description of important prefabricated structures already existing, in which about 70 representative structures erected in different countries are introduced. Finally, the economics of prefabrication are presented in a brief form. This book should be of paramount interest to designers and builders of industrial and hall structures and may be useful both to members of the teaching staff and to students alike at higher course in building technology.
