F. PAPP REVERSE-ALPHABETIZED DICTIONARY OF THE HUNGARIAN LANGUAGE This work contains an arrangement according to word-endings of the 58,323 main entries in the Explanatory Dictionary of the Hungarian Language. The present work has been prepared by means of punch-card machines and electronic computer. It differs from all the similar reverse word lists so far published in several languages (English, Cheremiss, Georgian, Russian, etc.) inasmuch as it is a real dictionary presenting in coded form the most important lexicographic data for the words (number of stems, homonyms, part of speech, inflectional type, etc.). Thus the scope of its applicability is much wider than is the case with any previous work of this kind. The statistical data and style-lists of the Appendix are powerful contributions to the practical value of the book. The book should be of interest to every institution where research in the Finno- Ugric, Hungarian and Central European branches of linguistics is conducted. The particular method of compilation (by means of modern machinery) guarantees that all institutions where similar techniques are applied will be interested in this dictionary.
