Popular beliefs and folklore tradition in Siberia (Budapest, 1968)
POPULAR BELIEFS AND FOLKLORE TRADITIONS IN SIBERIA Edited by V. DIÓSZEGI As a result of international co-operation some thirtythree papers in this volume are focussed on the problems of popular beliefs in Siberia, a specific terrain of Reguly’s activity, that have so far been rather neglected. The reader is acquainted with — besides the life and work of this much respected pioneer of Siberian research — various aspects of the history of religion of nearly all Siberian, as well as some non-Siberian, Finno-Ugric and Turkish peoples. Important new data concerning the relevant questions of ethnography, linguistics and archaeology are provided by distinguished experts of several countries, including representatives of the Vogul, Kazan, Tatar, Gilyak, and other topically interested nationalities.
