Wittmann István: Peritoneoscopy 1. (Budapest, 1966)
I I. WITTMAN M.D. PERITONEOSCOPY i—л Peritoneoscopy is one of the most ingenious diagnostic methods of modern medicine. It assists the physician to recognize the diffuse and tumorous alterations of the liver, to diagnose icterus and ascites, to establish the nature of portal hypertension and to clarify gynaecologic and other abdominal conditions. The two volumes describe the extensive possibilities of this diagnostic method and contain rich documentation. Volume one describes the methods, nstruments, indications and contraindications and dangers of peritoneoscopy. It deals with directed liver biopsy, peritoneoscopic cholecysto-cholangiography and splenoportography. Photoperitoneoscopy and the X-ray examination of the pneumoperitoneum are discussed. The normal and pathological pictures of the liver, the bile ducts, the portal vein system, the peritoneum, the internal female genitalia and other abdominal organs are discussed in detail. Volume two is a peritoneoscopic atlas containing 500 coloured photographs and illustrates what has been discussed in volume one. AKADÉMIAI KIADÓ BUDAPEST
