Zambó János: Optimum location of mining facilities (Budapest, 1968)

J. ZAMBÓ OPTIMUM LOCATION OF MINING FACILITIES The first part of the book deals with the fundamental problems of location analysis. It deduces in a very general form and illustrates by a number of examples the law of the minimum sum of weighted averages, and shows how to apply that law in practice. For the optimation of the main parameters of a projected mine (such as the site of the shaft or shafts, the projected output, the size of the shaft field) the knowledge of the cost function is required. This function expresses in its most general form the cost of production vs. the main parameters of the mine. The mathematical form of this functional relationship can be established by applying a regression procedure to parameters of mines already in operation. The book deals extensively with the regression techniques that yield the cost function. AKADÉMIAI KIADÓ PUBLISHING HOUSE OF THE HUNGARIAN ACADEMY OF SCIENCES BUDAPEST
