Under such circumstances it is well-nigh impossible to harmonise demands and possibilities with creative inspiration in a satisfactory way that might lead to a work of art that uncompromisingly represents the demands of both the patron and the artist. Spanning many branches of art (painting, graphic art, sculpture, glass art and design), characterised by a curious choice of material and technique, more often than not unusual in appearance and creating a new workstatus, Gábor Záborszky's works made to commission in community and private spaces between 1992 and 2007 on a monumental and traditional scale are in keeping with his oeuvre and they deserve special attention on account of their paradoxical autonomy and artistic sovereignty.
